Full on live funk-jazz jam featuring the powerhouse musicians from Masters of Funk. Recorded live at Quad Studios N.Y. and in Hollywood Ca movie studio recording B.

On Halloween eve 2016 right after finishing a wild live set at BB Kings in New York City, the master jazz & funk musicians decided to record the next morning. The Down Jazz team worked through the night to secure recording studios, engineers and all the equipment needed. What came out of this funky improv was an entire albums worth of material. Some tracks have a James Brown feel, one sounds like Herbie Hancock, most are full on Funk, while others have soulful grooves like Cameo or Slave.

We then flew out to Hollywood to meet up with Greg Thomas master of sax and Blackbyrd Mcknight-master guitarist to flush out these incredible tracks.

Sue Ann Carwell the incredible singer from Prince fame was flown in from Las Vegas and as luck would have it, Steve Boyd the soul singer was in the studio at the exact same time. The rest of the day and night was spent creating tracks, writing songs and crafting final mixes. These super cool jazzy-soulful-funky tracks were then turned into songs.

The track you are listening to now is an instrumental version without the vocals. The main track with vocals will be included with your album as well as Bonus tracks featuring longer jams and alternative takes with solos from each of the artists.
